A solo guitar arrangement of the hymn tune Picardy, most commonly set to the text of Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence. Inspired by colorful and dramatic hymn settings for the organ, this arrangement features three contrasting verses; the first uses faux-Renaissance modal harmonizations, the second moves to more chromatic harmonies above the hymn tune set in the lowest voice, and the third verse finishes with a brief polytonal conflict that moves the melody to major with dense harmonies as if the organist pulled out all the stops.
